Growing up in city of Zermatt by the foot of the mighty Matterhorn, Sam has been skiing from a very young age. In the hunt of adventure Sam started mountain climbing, and have climbed the Matterhorn over 40 times, as well as many other of the most dangerous peaks all over the world. Sam is an official mountain guide certified by the UIAGM (Union Internationale des Associations de Guides de Montagnes)

After years of mountaineering Sam began focussing on freeriding in 2009, and joined the Freeride World Tour, which he finished second overall in 2011. As a combination of his two passions Sam now climbs difficult peaks with his tent and sleeping bag on his back, in the search of new and untried lines to ski down the mountain.
