Thomas a chassé toute sa vie, les premières années avec son père, jusqu’à ce qu’il obtienne son permis de chasse à 17 ans. Pour Thomas, la chasse ne consiste pas seulement à tirer et à ramener de la viande à la maison, c’est toute l’expérience de passer du temps à l’extérieur, c’est thérapeutique. Se déplacer silencieusement dans la forêt, se fondre dans la nature, les sens aiguisés, l’esprit et le corps complètement concentrés.

Même si l’expérience est la chose la plus importante pour Thomas, ramener de la viande de gibier à la maison joue également un rôle important. Chez lui, on ne mange pratiquement que de la viande de gibier, et il en est fier. Il sait que les animaux qu’il abat ont vécu une belle vie dans la nature, plutôt que dans une cage à la ferme. Thomas est très soucieux d’utiliser chaque partie de l’animal, et il est naturel pour lui de prendre le temps de préparer la viande lorsqu’il a lui-même appuyé sur la gâchette.

What is the best thing about hunting?

A:

Spending time in the nature, and have the feeling that im free.

Do you have a favorite type of hunting?

A:

Every type of hunting has something about it that makes it special, so this one is hard to answer.

Do you have a hero or idol?

A:

Our ancesters who realy used every bit of the animal for something.

Tell us about a good hunting experience.

A:

When i got to shoot a 12 spike red deer, and my niece and nephew came up to the place where i shot it.
And when i shot my first Double for my dog, last year.

What is your preferred way to cook game meat?

A:

i dont have any!
I try to mix it up and try new things on a regular basis.

Is there any animal you dream about hunting?

A:

The dream must be to be able to shoot a reindeer with an bow and arrow, like our ancesters did!
But something that is possible, would have to be shoot a Chamoix with bow and arrow.

Any advice you would give to new hunters?

A:

Try to learn from everyone and dont be afraid to ask « stupid » questions.

A:

How do you use lighting in your hunting and outdoor life?

A:

I use it both in the morning and the evening when we are heading out and coming back from the hunt.
And also in the campsite when skinning the animals, after we have retrieved it from the field. And of course inside the tipi we have at the campsite.
