Headlamps v2

How is the test made?

A highly specialized light sphere to measure the exact amount of lumens

When we test and compare our products we use a highly specialized integrated light sphere to see the total amount of lumens from the torches light output. Every test and graph are made with the same setup:
– Turn on the torch/headlamp
– Close the light sphere
– Run it until it is drained completely/down to 10% lumens output (ANSI-standard)

Our tests are made according to the ANSI/NEMA FL-1 Standard. It is the only standardized test for flashlight manufacturers, and it defines the runtime as a duration of time from the initial light output value after 30 seconds until the light output reaches 10% of the initial value. A runtime test like this drains a huge amount of energy from the battery as fast as possible. In a normal use situation you would experience a longer total light time than the graph shows, especially with Alcaline powered lights.

ANSI = American National Standards Institute
NEMA = National Electrical Manufacturers Association
